MikePhoneJunkie’s Top 6 Smartphones Of 2012
Top 6 Smartphones June 2012
HTC One X
HTC released a new smartphone line featuring the HTC One X, One S and One V. The One X is going to be their premier device and is definitely a device that is ready to take on some of the top of the line smartphones. It is being released with Ice Cream Sandwich with HTC’s overlay Sense 4.0, which makes the OS work great. Featuring the new f/2.0 lens and burst photo capturing, the camera will knock you off your feet in amazement. I would definitely suggest to check out my hands on demo of this device as it is the next generation of the smartphones.
iPhone 4s
The iPhone 4s is my number one due to one factor, reliability. I have owned devices where sometimes the browser will load that difficult page and sometimes it will not. With the iPhone 4s I do not have that problem as it works when I need it to work. This phone is a 4G phone since it runs on AT&T’s HSPA+ network. This also goes for the camera, and the other great tools this device offers. The iPhone 4s features an 8mp iSight camera, dual-core A5 processor, and the great sharp Retina Display.
Samsung Galaxy Note
Samsung Galaxy Note can easily take #2 spot as I find it very reliable as well, but I believe it is going to need the 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update. It is currently for AT&T and is a 4G LTE phone. This device takes some getting used to since this screen measures in at 5.3”. The 5.3” Super AMOLED display is the best feature about this device. Samsung did not take any short cuts with superb smartphone’s specs, 800 x 1280 resolution, 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, 32 GB on board memory, 8mp camera, and a giant 2500 mAh 10 hour talk time battery. I definitely recommend you to check out my review video of this device.
Samsung Galaxy Nexus
The Galaxy Nexus was the first smartphone to be shipped with Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0. It is currently available for Verizon Wireless. The beautiful 4.65” Super AMOLED screen is to die for with 1280 x 720 pixels and 316 ppi. This device really sets the standards for todays smartphones and with it running ICS 4.0, it is really showing off with no lag at all with the 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB RAM, 5mp camera, but does lack expandable storage.
Samsung Galaxy SII Skyrocket
The Skyrocket was announced just a little over a month of its brother the Galaxy SII. It offers a 4.5” Super AMOLED Plus display , 1.2GHz dual-core processor, and an amazing 8mp camera.
HTC EVO 4G
The Evo 4g is the device that started the 4G wildfire. The HTC EVO 4G features a 4.3” LCD display, 8mp rear facing camera, & personal hotspot. This phone has some great relatives (EVO 3D & EVO Shift) that are possibly even better to some but this is the phone that set the spark.
Runner Ups:
Blackberry Bold 9900
The Bold 9900 is the device that most will argue about being on here but this is one RIM device that deserves a spot on my list. The Bold 9900 is a special device for s certain market. It has the best physical keyboard on a device while also having a 2.8” LCD touchscreen, 1.2GHz processor, 768GB RAM, 5mp camera, and best off it is running Blackberry OS 7 which is an amazing upgrade from OS 6. This phone is also running on AT&T’s 4g HSPA+ network. Check out my review video on this device.
