We have all come to expect great sales and record shattering numbers with any new Apple product hitting the shelves, that’s if they can make it to the shelves. Some analysts are saying that Apple’s recent iPhone 5 launch had some disappointing numbers at the opening weekend, or was it just that analysts are setting sky high number expectations.
Gene Munsters predicted that Apple would sell at least 6 million iPhone 5′s in the great anticipated opening weekend launch. Apple sold over 2 million pre-orders in the first 24 hours of taking pre-orders which pushed the back orders back 2-3 weeks.
Shaw Wu, of Sterne Agee, said this disappointment “is more a matter of high expectations getting out of touch with reality.”
Apple officially announced the iPhone 5 on September 12th, 2012 with no surprises as all the new features and design were all leaked from multiple sources. Many believe that Apple with the iPhone 5 is taking a complete 180 and heading for the worst. Did you pick up the iPhone 5? Let me know on here or Twitter @MikePhoneJunkie.
