Everyone has seen the announcement of the soon to come to iOS 6, which has over 200 new features. One of the most recognized change if Apple has decided to get rid of Google maps and the stock YouTube app that has been with iOS since the original iPhone. Apple has released their own fantastic Maps app but left YouTube to only be used in Safari. Well today, Google has released its own YouTube app through the iOS App Store.
As of right now, it is only available for the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod 3rd GEN,and 4th GEN iPod touch. It says the iPad app will be coming in the near future, that will run the iPhone version if need be. Check out my video of the new YouTube app compared to the one in iOS 5.
I believe Google is releasing this today since WWDC 2012 is scheduled for tomorrow (Sept 12, 2012) and they will possibly releasing iOS 6 to the public tomorrow evening, which in return, will leave the stock YouTube app off of the operating system.
